Bike Ahead wanted to combine these two requirements by developing a unit with handlebars and stem in one and the same carbon fiber piece, THE UNIT.
The design is a combination of a dynamic and a straight shape, together with a uniquely designed internal clamp for the handlebar stem's attachment to the steerer tube. All to create an aesthetic unit. Bike Ahead has 10 years of experience in manufacturing premium carbon fiber components. This means that The Unit has been optimized in the best way. The handlebar has optimal shock absorption while the torsional rigidity is maximum in the handlebar stem. The mount in the steerer tube is a patented NSA clamp, which is almost invisibly integrated into the stem itself.
Not only that. Bike Ahead has also, in collaboration with Carbonworks , the German manufacturer of the lightest mounts for GPS computers, developed a unique system with mounting directly on the handlebar. The mount is available in three versions (short, long and adjustable) and with mounts for all GPS computers. The lightest version weighs only 9.5g! There is also a GoPro mount that can be added.
